The entrepreneurship promotion program called “Family Business in the classrooms” fostered by Family Business of Castilla y Leon Region along with the Department of Education has continued this week with its agenda of activities in Salamanca, through a speech provided by Francisco Iglesias Gil, Director of Carnicas Iglesias.
The Director brought the importance of values such as entrepreneurship, effort and commitment to fifty students of the school, through the example of the long history of his family, representing the 4th generation in the company.
Thus, he explained that Carnicas Iglesias was founded by his great-grandfather in 1928, Francisco Iglesias Escribano, in the town of Santa Marta, where the company is still located and dedicated to the manufacture, commercialization and distribution of pork products, mainly hams and charcuterie of white and Iberian pork.
From its origins, the company has carefully maintained its traditional production process that, along with a fine selection of raw materials, has led to an important recognition of the quality of its products.
Indeed, nowadays these products are commercialized in the main national and foreign wholesalers, thanks to the adaptability to constant changes, innovation and development of the four generations that have driven the company.
Following the presentation, the students will be visiting the factory of Carnicas Iglesias in Salamanca, where they could get to know the working procedures of this company.
